Short Film

The short film we watched in class today seemed to follow the lives of the one man and then a few other people in his life. It started with 6 clowns moving their heads in time with the other clown to music. This scene in itself set an example for the rest of the film, in that is represented the focus on elegant and graceful movement set to music. This theme was continued throughout the film with several dancers, the hula hoop girl and dancing with men with hula hoops. Every scene was very eloquent while the music was old fashioned and at times depressing. Depression also seemed to be a theme in the film. The man in the beginning was angry at his job and wanted a change, he then was with a woman but managed to make her depressed. The man’s friend did not have legs and also seemed a bit depressed. But the depression was released at the end when the man without legs was helped out by the first man in walking down the beach and he appeared to have legs, and the hula hoop woman found a man to be with.
