Final: Project 4

Once again, I left the photo lab the class before our project was due with nothing done and a hazy concept that lacked focus and a final solution. My original idea was focusing on the prompt which required us to change an event in history. I love history, and have a history minor, which is maybe why I struggled so much to nail down what exactly I wanted to do. How do you pick one event from history? I couldn't do it, it was apparently too close to home. The other prompt dealt with making a "Small World" as in some kind of doll house, which at first did not interest me at all, but since I could not decide on a historical event, I tried to think smaller. I was literally sitting on my bed looking off at my door hanger full of shoes desperately racking my brain for some kind of inspiration. Then my thoughts went to my shoes and how I like them, and how they are small, so maybe I could do something with shoes. Then I remembered Mother Goose computer game I had when I was little and the story of the Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe, and from there I ran with it.
I drove out to my parents house and took pictures out in the lawn and of little things around the house that I could use to make a shoe feel more like a home. As I was working, my dogs were running around like wild animals, but occasionally took interest in my shoe that was sitting on the ground.

I shot several different backgrounds for my future home...

 Typical Tally, she's grumpy.

I put cookies in the shoes to make her interested. She's very tubby so I knew she would not be able to resist.
I liked this background the best, but I wanted the interaction with the dogs more
 This light outside my house
So this is probably really obvious to everyone else, but I now understand the importance of a good light source.
 Everything put together!

Final! I added a brick texture to the shoe to make it more house-like, and then added a filter over the whole thing to make it more dream-like. Even though it was rushed an a bit last minute, I seriously love this one!
