My initial idea about creating an interrupted landscape was to use the profiles of a face as a landscape. I had a difficult time creating this and went looking for other inspiration. I was actually walking home from photo class one day when the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds played on my ipod. I have heard the song hundreds of time and I know basically every word. I realized that as I was walking the song was very descriptive of a scenery. At that point I decided to create a photo which depicted what I thought of when listening to the song. I wanted to depict the scenery and not the obvious sky with diamonds. I used my boyfriend Nick as my model and put him in the scenery that I imagined while listening to the song. I enjoyed this project because I felt like I had very few limitations. I was attempting to depict a song that was based on an acid trip, so I felt like I could create something truly bizarre.
"Picture yourself in a boat on a river. With tangerine trees and marmalade skies."
"The flowers grow so incredibly high"
Overall I'm pretty happy with my final pieces, but I also think that they can be taken even further. I would love to continue working with the elements and the backgrounds to make them even more 'trippy'
